A prominent member of InterNations, the world’s leading platform for expatriates, playing the pivotal role in connecting expats from around the emirates, Cristina Caringal organizes networking activities for a platform of 77,000 members comprising over 200 nationalities.
As a Consul of, not one but 8 groups in the InterNations Dubai community, Cristina has become the invaluable nexus for numerous expats across the country. She has hosted a total of 340 events and recreational activities over the last 5 years that benefited members. “Being an active community leader allows me to help expats and global minds make connections and do what they love in their new environment. It also helps develop and build members’ networks and business contacts through these activities,” she says.
Her contributions to the Dubai expat community were lauded by InterNations which granted her the first-ever Member’s Choice Award, an honor where she bested some 5,000 community leaders spread across 420 cities around the globe.
“I want to continue inspiring my fellow countrymen to be the best version of themselves – that we don’t work just to send money but we work to live and live happily,” she says. “I want to be confident about my race and talents because confidence makes you trustworthy. Filipinos should stay resilient and keep transforming hardships into something beautiful. Filipinos are known to grow and fight their battles and reap fruits of their labor in the end.”
