As Head of People Experience at luxury retail giant Chalhoub Group, devising and implementing systems that will ultimately delight and provide exceptional experiences to customers is something expert Florencio ‘Rhency’ Padilla has done with much aplomb. Since being appointed in 2018, he was tasked to understand and re-design the experience of over 12,000 employees at different stages in the company, with the end goal in mind of winning the hearts of our customers.
Over the last two years, he has worked closely with C-level leaders and senior managers at the group redesigning systems and strengthening the culture of ongoing feedback and continuous enhancements. As a result, Chalhoub Group was just recently recognized as a “Great Place to Work in the UAE.”
Rhency, has been working as a Human Resources professional in Asia and the East since 2007, with a specialization in learning and development, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and employee experience. He is also a respected speaker within the retail and HR conference circuits and was a featured guest at the Retail Middle East Forum 2020 held in Dubai in September 2019. This year, he is set to speak at the 10th Annual HR Excellence MENA Summit: Compensation and Benefits in April.
“The HR profession is changing a lot. Business managers and employees demand newer skills from HR professionals,” he says. Practicing the philosophy that change is the only constant in life, Rhency believes that it is vital to keep up-to-date with the latest trends, as well as continue learning new skills in one’s field.
