A registered psychometrician, accredited TESDA assessor and leadership and talent development professional for more than 17 years, Juan Paolo Arao is proud to be the only Filipino who was part of the ADNOC PMO first sub-committee, aiming to standardize and unify the strategic employee performance management process for approximately 50,000 employees and 14 companies under ADNOC group.

He is also the only Filipino selected to be one of the “Brand and Values Champion” for Abu Dhabi Polymers – Borouge – which operates the world’s largest integrated polyolefins complex in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi with 4.5 million tonnes produced per year.

Passionate about helping Filipinos to get ahead in their careers, he has spearheaded numerous initiatives, including founding the first and only TESDA Accredited Assessment Center in Abu Dhabi, the Association of Filipino TESDA Trainers and Assessors, and establishing TESDA Accredited training programs in Caregiving and Electrical Installation and Maintenance in UAE.  He also co-founded the Filipino Learning Organization, a non-profit for the development of aspiring Filipino trainers, as well as the Psychological Society of the Philippine-UAE, another non-profit which provides psycho-social interventions to manage and improve mental health, as well as support to Filipino Psychology board exam takers in UAE – all pro bono.

“We can elevate ourselves by adopting a progressive and learning mindset,” he says. “We have to take charge of our own development to remain competitive in the progressive globally-oriented community.”
