It’s not easy being a woman.

We hold the most demanding job in the world (I’ll pull the “childbirth card” and go out on a limb to say that it’s more complicated than Barrack Obama’s occupation.)

We are born multi-taskers and go into the world juggling career, family and home; our community, our relationships, as well as our personal up keep and growth.  Unlike our male counterparts who are mostly expected to be the providers of the family,  women the “ilaw ng tahanan” (light of the home) as we call it back home, are the ones who are mainly responsible for taking care of the family, seeing to it that all their needs are met; bringing up the children, ensuring that they grow up as decent and productive human beings; making sure the household runs smoothly – that there is delicious food on the table, the house is clean and cozy, and that everything is working as it should.
