Amy Miranda – Illustrado 300 Most Influential Filipinos in the Gulf

Amy Miranda

Community Champion

Saving lives and being a force for good serving as a community leader go hand in hand in Amy Miranda’s life priorities. A registered nurse for 22 years, Amy excels in bringing quality standard care to her patients while bringing out the best in Filipinos in the community.

In tandem with her profession, she is also the prolific president of the United Filipino Club in Umm Al Quwain, UAE. By combining her medical expertise and leadership skills, she has worked alongside Filipino leaders to coordinate consular services, medical missions, outreach programs and cultural events – including Philippine Independence Day and Bayanihan 2019.

She and her team have also educated fellow kababayans on health, environment, lifestyle and financial topics.  Among her notable feats, is having assisted in creating more Filipino Registered Nurses through the Special professional Licensure Examination (SPLE) with the Filipino Nurses Association in the Emirates (FNAE). In 2019, they held their 8th Nurse’s oathtaking ceremony, which produced 49 officially registered Philippine Nurses.

On her contribution to the greater scheme of things, Amy reflects, “Yes, all of us are dreamers, but we will remain a dreamer if no one leads the way so we can all live our dream. I want to be the person, used by God so others too will become an achiever, a person who inspires and helps others find their true purpose in life.

We are all passersby on this world and we only have one life to live- let us leave good footprints that others would want to follow.”
