To be a successful makeup artist, you always have to approach a task with the eyes of a beginner.  This is the mantra that has kept Ivy Peralta thriving throughout his career as a makeup artist.  He shares, “Any profession with “art” in the title requires creative imagination and a strong visual sense. Makeup artists should understand the different shapes and features of a face and recognize how to highlight them. Perception and visualization are essential, as cosmetic application relies on the ability to mentally rearrange details of an image to create an attractive look without mistakes.”

Ivy has worked with Rocky Gathercole, Amato, and many other names in the local fashion industry.  His work has been featured in prestigious glossies like US Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, among others, even on TV.  These days the hard-working artist is also investing time in mentoring up and coming make-up talents, sharing what he can of the craft he loves so much.
