Thoughtleaders: Regina Marauta
Entrepreneur
After working and excelling in five different sectors, Regina Marauta took the big leap to create her own business. Although she has seen the ups and downs of working for big organizations, she has created her own business model, offering a different kind of high-quality product and specialized service.
Her foray in the Performing Arts sector during her school days helped her identify a niche in Dubai for well-known brands of dance apparel. After doing extensive research, she trained an all-Filipino team and opened up Meeting Dance & Leisure Wear. Now running for 15 years, Meeting Dance & Leisure Wear is known as the gold standard in dancewear in the region and has a client base that extends beyond the Gulf region – with customers as far as Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and even Russia.
“The highlight of all the hard work is when I see how our clients are beautifully donned on stage during their performances, and confidently participate in competitions both locally and internationally,” she says. “Nothing beats that excitement we share with them on these special moments, knowing that they trusted us to elevate them to their best performance to date.”
She adds, “I would like to believe that I have influenced the different nationalities in the region to respect and appreciate Filipinos who excel and specialize in their field.”
