“I really love what I do, and I get a real buzz out of seeing people and the organization grow,” she says of her work as the Group Human Resources Manager for Jebel Ali Resorts & Hotels, an international hospitality company based in Dubai, with more than 30 years’ experience in managing and operating resorts and hotels. Vangie administers the development and implementation of all Human Resources related strategies and activities and experiences for the group in Employee Relations, Staffing, and Retention, Benefits design and management, Policy and Procedure development, Recruitment Strategies, Compensation & Benefit, Staff Training and Development, Succession Planning and Staff Housing.
Starting her foray into HR in 2009, Vangie says she’s always wanted to be in a position to help other people in business, regardless of their ethnicity or religion. “It’s my advocacy to be a change agent for others and help them realize that they can reach their potentials in life.” Always a supporter and a believer in the Filipino’s innate people skills, Vangie remarks, “We have a lot of Filipinos in UAE excelling in their own field, and we must be proud of them!” She adds, “Essentially, we Filipinos can be proud of our humanity. We are highly relational people, proficient in emotionally and socially connecting with others. Our innate humanity is apparent in the ways we interact with those close to us including others outside our kin circle. We stand proud of those Filipinos who give exceptional care to the rest of the world.”
